Turkey Unlocked

Hey friend. Are you planning a trip to Turkey?

I get how it can feel overwhelming to plan a big trip.

You may have some particular things you want to see or do. Maybe you’re planning a once-in-a-lifetime trip and feel the pressure to get it ‘just right.’

With so many incredible sights and experiences in Turkey, you might even feel like a deer caught in the headlights, not knowing where to start.

And if you’re reading this and you’re desperate to TAKE THE TRIP, but you’re just feeling super overwhelmed….

I once felt how you did.

After barely leaving the USA for most of my childhood, I finally moved halfway across the world to Turkey in 2019. And I’m not gonna lie—it was a BIG change.

But I did it! I did the hard thing, and now I’m so thankful I did! Turkey has been my home for the past five years, and the ways in which I have grown and changed since then are countless.

I know what it is to have that itch to travel and see the world. And I’m here to tell you that, if I did it, so can you- no matter how old you are or what your story is.

We only get one life, and we only have this one beautiful planet to enjoy!

So, if you’re ready for your adventure (and the personal growth that comes with it!), the good news is that I’m here to help! I want to eliminate some of your worries and take out the guesswork in planning your trip.

Best to help plan a trip

‘Even though I’ve lived in Istanbul myself for seven years, Kimberly’s blog is still my point of reference when planning trips around Turkey with my three young boys! I can’t think of anyone better to help plan a first trip to Turkey- one session with her, and you can get packing with confidence.’

Since moving to Turkey and starting the Art of Living in Turkey, I’ve been helping people from all over the world to GET ON THE FREAKIN’ PLANE, and come and enjoy this beautiful country.

And the thing is, travel is SO subjective and personal. What travelers want from a trip is totally unique to them.

From hiking to boutique Istanbul shopping to beach-bumming to delving into Turkey’s rich history, what you like to do on vacation is going to be different from the next person, ammirite?

The good news is that

You can work with me to plan your perfect trip to Turkey!

With my ‘Turkey Unlocked Consultation’ consulting service, I virtually meet with you and help you discover what places and experiences in Turkey will make your heart sing!

Say goodbye to anxiety, feeling overwhelmed by choice, or blind booking after scanning Trip Advisor and hoping for the best, and get ready for customized empowering advice on where you should stay, how you should get there, and what you should do while in Turkey—all based on your personal preferences, passions, and budget.

You’ll then get all the details in a Google document to keep and use to book the elements of your trip.

Whenever you’ve finished your tea or food, expect your plate or cup to be refilled immediately. What you might come across as annoying waiters just hovering around your table is actually them trying to offer you the best possible service!

Kimberly Living in Turkey

As a child, I dreamed of living in Asia one day. So it’s quite a fun full-circle story about how I ended up moving and settling in Turkey five years ago. (Read my full story here)

When you plan a trip with me, you’re not talking to someone who has just visited Turkey a few times or comes back a few times a year- you’re getting genuine advice from someone who chose to make Turkey HOME.

I’ll share WAY more than just generic advice; I’ll share my personal insights based on your desires and needs.

What’s Included in Turkey Unlocked Consultation:

Tried-and-tested Recommendations

Honest, tried-and-tested recommendations (i.e., the beach I’d go to or the neighborhood I go to for the best weekend breakfast).

Trusted recommendations

If I haven’t been someone myself- someone in my trusted network will have. (I’ll never recommend anywhere I wouldn’t go myself!)

Tailored to you advice

Understanding and empathetic advice- because chances are, if you’re worried about an element of travel- I’ve probably been through it!

Plus I’ll get all this to you in a Google Document so you can refer back to it as often as you need to.

Appreciate your tips

This is great, thank you so much! I will probably find a guided tour for Gallipoli/Troy. I appreciate your tips and will let you know how it goes.

So what does a ‘Turkey Unlocked Consultation’ Consultation with me look like?

Step 1

After you purchase a consultation session with me, I’ll send you a short questionnaire with some pre-work questions to help you think about your goals and desires for your trip. Basically, I’ll ask, ‘What do you like to do?’

Step 2

Next, we’ll schedule a call to chat for around 45 minutes, and I’ll have some more strategic questions for you. If the answer to some is ‘I don’t know,’ that’s totally fine too. This one-to-one consultation with me is designed to give you customized advice. You can ask all the questions you want and I can research any particular areas of interest for you.

Step 3

Finally, I’ll then put together a one-page document with all my recommendations, giving you a skeleton from which you can book your trip with peace of mind and confidence. You’ll have a list of places to visit, accommodation, and eating recommendations, all ready for you to go ahead and book when you’re ready.

Right now, I’m offering this private consultation for just $49.

This introductory price won’t last too long, so if you want to come to Turkey, go ahead and click the ‘I’m in’ button below now, and let’s plan your trip!

Ex-pat Insider Tip

One thing I learned as a single woman quite early on in Turkey is that what might be you just being ‘friendly’ in your home culture can be taken very differently here. So you gotta get ready to get your poker face on.

Still Not sure?

All I’ll say, friend, is if you consider the cost of your trip, this 45 minutes with me could make your trip. I’m gonna help you:

  • Defeat travel overwhelm and decision fatigue (especially if planning a big milestone trip like a honeymoon.)
  • Discover what will bring you joy during your trip to Turkey (no wasted time, no unnecessary expense!)
  • Mitigate feelings of risk and educate yourself on how to minimize risk (especially as solo women travelers or families with young children).
  • Eliminate what you DON’T want to do (even if you feel you SHOULD do certain things. Hey, some people don’t like looking at dusty pieces of pottery in museums all day, and that’s okay!)
  • Get the most bang for your buck (and avoid getting ripped off!)
  • Navigate cultural norms and expectations confidently.

Get ready for the trip of a lifetime that’s completely tailored to your personality and desires!

Kimberly is an expert

Kimberly is an amazing resource on all things Istanbul…and all things Turkey.  We talked at length about various neighborhoods in Istanbul, the pros and cons of different types of accommodation, visas, getting around (transportation), and places to visit, both on and off the beaten track. We also talked about the challenges of learning Turkish. Kimberly is an expert! Her knowledge, advice, experience, and recommendations definitely enriched my travel experience in Istanbul.

Do you make reservations for me?

No. That’s down to you after I make suggestions. I don’t have a travel agency and that industry is quite protected in Turkey.

How long is our call?

Approximately 45 minutes

Do you offer group consultations?

To maximize our time together we meet one-on-one or with a maximum of two people. That being said, we can talk about a group, I just won’t meet with the whole group.

Do you offer refunds?

No.

What is your rescheduling policy?

Did your schedule change? That’s ok! You can reschedule this call twice, after which I’ll need you to buy another call.

What if I’m late to the call?

I have a 10-Minute Late Start Grace Period: I will wait for you to attend the call for 10 minutes. After that time, if you still haven’t reached out, it will be classified as a no-show.

What if I miss the call?

In the case of a no-show, I will assume you no longer want my services. There is no refund available in this case.
